Only if you have backup enabled and linked to your operating system (iCloud/Google Drive). The Linio app does not store your data anywhere else.

What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
Linio does not store your data on any external server. If you don’t have app backup enabled directly through your operating system (iCloud/Google Drive), all data stored on your device will be deleted once you uninstall the Linio app.
Can I permanently delete my data?
Yes — we do not store your data anywhere, and it exists only on your device. Deleting the app on your device will automatically erase all data as well. If you have backups enabled on iCloud/Google Drive, you will need to delete those too.
Is the app GDPR compliant?
Yes, the app meets all requirements and obligations related to GDPR compliance.
Using the App
Anyone can use Linio — just snap a photo of a business card and we’ll take care of everything else.
How does the app work?
After scanning a business card, Linio automatically creates a contact profile. If the app is unable to read the card, the scanned image is automatically saved in the “Incomplete Scans” section within the app, where you can manually finish the digitization and save it later.

Can I edit the saved contacts?
Yes. After scanning, you can edit each contact before saving it (for example, correct the name or add a note). You can also edit the contact at any time later, such as adding information related to social networks or registries. Contacts shared via QR code are additionally updated automatically on both sides of the shared connection.
How should I properly light a business card when taking a photo?
The ideal way is to photograph the business card in bright light against a contrasting background, for example a white card on a dark surface and vice versa.
What should I do if the text is not recognized correctly?
After scanning, you can manually edit any contact at any time (for example, correct the name or add a note).
Can I add a business card manually without taking a photo?
Yes. You can photograph any scene or upload any image from your phone’s gallery and let the app scan it. Even though the app won’t extract any data from such an image, you can manually complete the contact afterward and enter any details or notes you need.
Does the app support QR codes on business cards?
No — QR codes printed directly on business cards are not supported. However, the app can scan the QR code of another Linio user and create a new contact from it. If either of you later updates your own contact details, those changes will automatically appear on the other side as well.
Can it be used with multi‑page business cards (front/back)?
Yes, Linio automatically allows you to scan both sides of a business card.
Where can I find the contacts I’ve already scanned?
On the app’s home screen. Here you’ll find the full list of all scanned and created contacts, which can be sorted alphabetically, by creation date, or by company name.
How many business cards can I save?
An unlimited number — the capacity depends only on your device’s storage.
Can I scan multiple business cards at once?
No, this feature is still in development. Business cards need to be scanned and digitized one by one. However, since you can also import source images from your phone’s gallery, you can simply take photos of all the cards in a hurry and save them to your gallery, then digitize them later.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. In offline mode, the scanned image is saved in the “Incomplete Scans” section. Once you reconnect to the internet, you can complete the digitization. All data stored in the app remains accessible even when offline.
I didn’t capture the business card correctly — what should I do?
If the scan is unreadable, you can retake it or manually fill in the missing information.
What is the purpose of a tag?
A tag creates a unique label for a contact, allowing you to filter them by a specific characteristic (e.g., “Contractors”, “Financial Advisors”, etc.).
How accurate is the registry search? (e.g., when dealing with common company names)
Linio searches for all companies with the given name. If multiple companies share the same name, the user simply selects the correct one from the displayed options — the one that matches the business card.
Does Linio offer any features that other apps don’t?
Yes. Linio is the only app that can extract company data directly from administrative business registries and store it right inside the contact profile. And when two Linio users connect, the app offers a unique feature — automatic contact updates. For example, if the other user changes their phone number, it will update on your side automatically. To enable this feature, both users need to share their personal profile QR codes with each other inside the app.

Which versions of iOS/Android does the app support?
Linio works on all iOS and Android versions that are currently supported by their operating systems. For the best performance, we recommend using up‑to‑date system versions.

For scanning itself, the app requires access to your device’s camera. To use all features, it also needs access to your photo gallery (this allows you to create a contact from a previously taken photo of a business card).
Does the app take up a lot of storage space on the phone?
No, the app does not take up much storage space. Its size is around 200 MB.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. In offline mode, you can take a photo of a business card and save it to the “Incomplete Scans” section, and the contact can be completed manually once you reconnect to the internet. All data stored in the app remains accessible even when offline.

You can try the app for free for 7 days — after that, it switches to a monthly subscription with no feature limitations.
Is the app free to use?
Linio is available for free in its full version for the first 5 business cards, giving users the chance to try the app comfortably. After creating the fifth card, the app remains free for the next 7 days, after which the selected subscription plan begins.
The subscription payment is processed directly through the app’s distribution platform (App Store or Google Play).

Can I try the app for free first?
Yes, you can download and use Linio for free for the first 5 business cards, and then continue using it for another 7 days after scanning the fifth card.

Yes, Linio can read less common fonts and cursive handwriting as well as handwritten text. You can therefore even create a contact from handwritten notes on paper or from a photo of a poster or other promotional materials.
Can I also manage older, previously saved business cards using the app?
Yes, all business cards you have scanned while using the app can be edited, organized, and enriched with additional information at any time.
Can the app automatically recognize and categorize contacts (e.g. company, role, country)?
Linio allows you to add tags to your contacts and then search by them within the app. This way, you can separate, for example, business contacts from tradespeople, etc.
